Why writing

What’s the point
#

I’m not a content creator
#

It’s been a couple of years since I’m trying to create content as a developer. Maybe because I am influenced by successful programmers that happen to create content like ThePrimeAgen, Tsoding, Andreas Kling and others I admire for their technical knowledge and achievements.

But I’m not like them. I’m old. I’m not a native English speaker. I don’t have a “cool” Russian accent. I’m not handsome. I’m not smart. I don’t type fast. I don’t know much about Linux. I don’t know C · C++ · Rust · Zig · Assembly · Go · Lua · Vim · Neovim · Emacs · i3wm · Dwm. I never created an operating system · a compiler · a text editor · a browser · an emulator · a relational database engine · a no-sql database engine · a proxy · a reverse proxy · a backdoor · an exploit · a rootkit · a debugger.

I’m not good enough.

AI will replace us
#

We also have the elephant in the room. Nobody reads anymore, because now we have ChatGPT that spits out “knowledge” in various forms and styles. You have people using AI to write emails and others using AI to summarize their content. You can do so much with it, and so fast, that what’s the point of writing or reading anything at all?

Why I do it
#

I don’t care
#

The first reason is: I don’t care. If I’m ugly · dumb · ignorant · a bad writter · ignored · or anything bad I can think of myself. I want to get better. I want to become the best version of myself.

I want to be a hacker. I want to say “I built a compiler”, or “you can check the source code of my operating system in my GitLab. Because I did it. The only way around it is to put my butt on my chair and research, code, test and commit to my repos.

I’m human
#

I want to learn from my mistakes, document my journey and share my learnings with anyone interested. There are people like me and you who like these topics and also want to get better. They also want to learn and share findings, and read about thoughts or ideas, frustrations or anything human.

That’s why.

My promise to you
#

Everything you’ll see here will be either the result of my research, or my thoughts and will be written by myself with my very own hands. No LLM BS.
